Growing Collective Knowledge

Learning in the Outdoor Marine Habitat

Conducted a program evaluation that included a policy analysis and staff assessment. Used the evaluation to design an internal conversation and, with the help of Good Juju Co., a series of constructive activities that resulted in increased awareness of program policy drivers (e.g. mandates, agreements, administrative policies), renewed understanding of program positioning with the larger agency umbrella, and improved departmental collaboration.

Building a Women Farmers Network

Surveyed interest and needs of women farmers on topics related to risk management tools for farming. Used the survey results to design and orchestrate a series of archipelago-wide workshops to train to women farmers on value-added production, marketing, and agritourism. The project was done in partnership and with support from Kualoa Ranch, DHHL, Hawaii Farm Bureau and funders. This first series of workshops led to subsequent funding for additional workshops and the establishment of a social media network for women farmers.
